Entering a confined space can be one of the most hazardous tasks undertaken if the proper safe procedures are not implemented correctly. This training will increase your knowledge of the hazards associated with entering confined spaces. Also, specific control techniques and the basic pre-entry procedures to safely perform work will be reviewed.
Confined Space Training Objectives :
• Definition of confined / closed space
• Significant hazards
• Rules and conditions for working in confined / closed spaces
• Risk assessment procedure, HIRARC
• Designing and implementing a Safe Work system (Work Permit)
• Hazard Control, Process and Power System Isolation, Lockout / Tagout, and Purging
• Gas detection including monitoring and calibration (Gas Tester)
• Use of breathing apparatus
• Confined / closed space entry procedures
• Rescue techniques and Emergency procedures
Training Content:
• Confined / Closed Space Risk Assessment and Control List (Control Checklist) • Hazard Control, Isolation of Process and Power Systems, incl Lock Out / Tag Out and Purging • Confined / Closed Space entry procedures • Breathing apparatus • Training and Instructions (Drills) for working in Confined / Confined Spaces • Rescue Procedure, as well as Emergency Procedure • Modification of the Execution of the Way of Work to make it safer • Implementation of a Safe Work System and a Safe Work Permit System • Safety Reviews and Rescue Procedures • Record Keeping, Monitoring and Review
